About
Over a career spanning 40 years, Peter has emerged as a leading financial commentator and analyst of the Taiwan markets and industries, earning him the moniker of Mr. Taiwan. He currently serves as Chief Strategy Officer at Quantum International Corporation (QIC) where he advises companies on accessing international capital markets. At QIC, Peter and his team members have counted most of the major companies in this sector as among their clientele, including PharmaEssentia, Oneness, and Foresee. They have, moreover, been advising numerous early-stage and pre-IPO biotech companies on fundraising strategies. Finally, Peter devised the motto "HEADs Up" to underscore the four industries that QIC views as those that will lead Taiwan's economic growth going forward – Health Tech, Energy Tech, Automotive Tech, and Data-based businesses. QIC has since created several conferences and events around this theme.
Experience
Prior to joining QIC in 2019, Peter was Head of Country Research and Managing Director of Citigroup Global Capital Markets (Taiwan) for 12 years where he also served as Chairman. In addition to Taipei, Peter has worked in several financial centers around the world, including New York, London, Hong Kong, and Boston. Peter and his team have been top-ranked in numerous surveys over the years by Institutional Investor, Euromoney, and Asiamoney. In 1991, Peter also established the first foreign investment vehicle in Taiwan, known as a Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor, with an initial quota of US$50 million. As well as covering broader market and industry dynamics, since 2012 Peter has taken a deeper focus on the emerging Biotech and Pharma sector in Taiwan, having been the first foreign analyst to initiate coverage of some of Taiwan's leading companies in this sector such as PharmaEssentia and TaiMed.
